The “CM02” Titan Krios G4 (Thermo Fisher Scientific) is located at the ESRF and operated as an ESRF CRG beamline: one third of the beam time is allocated to ESRF users (including French users) while the rest is available for French laboratories through a curated process. It is maintained and operated by a team of 5 people from the IBS/ISBG (Grenoble).
The Institute of Structural Biology (IBS) (www.ibs.fr) in Grenoble is a leading research center specializing in structural biology, biophysics, and molecular biology. Affiliated with CNRS, CEA, and Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), IBS focuses on studying biological macromolecules using techniques like cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. It plays a key role in biomedical and biotechnological research.
The Integrated Structural Biology Grenoble (ISBG) (www.isbg.fr) is a multidisciplinary platform combining expertise from IBS, EMBL Grenoble, and ESRF. It offers advanced infrastructures for structural biology and supports research in macromolecular crystallography, cryo-EM, and biophysics within the FRISBI network.
The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) (www.esrf.fr) is one of the world’s most powerful synchrotrons, providing high-energy X-rays for structural and materials science. It is a major hub for crystallography, imaging, and spectroscopy, supporting breakthroughs in biology, chemistry, and physics.
The IBS/ISBG are centre of the national infrastructure FRISBI (https://frisbi.eu/ ) and the european infrastructure Instruct-ERIC.
